Abandonia 2015

In November 2015 the classic DOS gaming website Abandonia suffered a significant data breach. The security incident led to the exposure of the user database containing information of over 776 thousand members. The compromise involved a breach of the sites backend infrastructure which allowed unauthorized access to sensitive user credentials. Leaked data included email addresses, IP addresses, usernames, and passwords stored as MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking.
