In September 2023 the ASKO insurance company suffered a significant data breach when the UHG hacker group successfully infiltrated their systems. The attack resulted in the exfiltration of a database containing records of over 3 million customers. The compromised information includes personal identification details and vehicle data which puts users at risk of targeted phishing and identity theft. The breach was publicly disclosed by the threat actors after gaining unauthorized access to the internal infrastructure.
