In 2019 a massive data exposure affected Acuity Insurance involving approximately 242 million records. The data was later shared by a threat actor known as Crazyoldfart on RaidForums in 2021. The incident involved an unsecured database containing highly detailed marketing and household information about United States citizens. The dataset included personal identifiers such as full names, physical addresses, and phone numbers. It also featured granular demographic details like occupation, ethnicity, and financial indicators. No email addresses were present in this specific collection but the scale of personal data exposure posed a significant risk for identity theft and social engineering attacks.
