Adapt

In November 2018 an unsecured database belonging to the business intelligence company Adapt was discovered online. The exposure involved over 9.3 million unique records of individuals primarily containing professional profiles. The data included personal names employee positions contact information and detailed employer metrics such as company size and annual revenue. The incident occurred because the database was left publicly accessible without any authentication required. Despite notifications the company did not provide a formal response regarding the security failure.
