In March 2022 the Australian solar energy provider AG Energy experienced a significant data security incident. The breach resulted in the exposure of sensitive customer records involving approximately 138000 individuals. The compromised data included full names personal email addresses home and mobile phone numbers and complete physical residential addresses. This incident highlights vulnerabilities in the renewable energy sector database management systems leading to the unauthorized access and extraction of a large volume of private consumer information.
