In March 2019 the gaming cheat provider Aimware experienced a data breach that exposed sensitive user information. The incident reportedly involved a compromise of the service database containing records for approximately 180000 to 300000 unique users. The leaked data included email addresses, usernames, and passwords stored as MD5 hashes. This breach was significant within the enthusiast gaming community as it exposed the identities of individuals using third party software modifications.
