Aipai

In September 2016 the Chinese gaming platform Aipai suffered a significant data breach that exposed the personal information of approximately 6.5 million users. The incident involved the unauthorized access and subsequent distribution of a database containing sensitive user credentials. The primary cause of the leak was attributed to security vulnerabilities within the websites infrastructure which allowed attackers to extract account details. The exposed data posed a major risk for credential stuffing attacks across other platforms due to the presence of plaintext or easily decodable passwords.
