In February 2017 the airsoft community platform AirsoftC3 experienced a data breach that resulted in the exposure of user information. The incident involved the compromise of a database containing user credentials and personal details. Most of the leaked data originated from the platforms user registration system. The breach was discovered and subsequently shared within the security community and on data leak repositories. Analysis indicates that the compromise might have been due to vulnerabilities in the website infrastructure which allowed unauthorized access to back end systems.
