AiType

In December 2017 the AI.type virtual keyboard application suffered a massive data exposure due to a misconfigured MongoDB database. The database was left open without password protection allowing anyone to access over 577 GB of sensitive data. The incident exposed detailed personal information including full names email addresses and precise location data. Furthermore the leak contained metadata about the device hardware and software as well as millions of records relating to installed applications and contacts from the users phone books.
