In early 2018 the Thai recruitment and community portal for English teachers Ajarn.com suffered a data breach. The incident led to the exposure of approximately 270000 user records. The leaked database contained sensitive information including email addresses, full names, usernames, and IP addresses. Additionally, passwords stored as MD5 hashes were compromised along with user comments. The breach highlights vulnerabilities in legacy hashing algorithms that allow attackers to crack passwords and gain unauthorized access to accounts on the platform.
