In October 2020 the Albion Online fantasy MMORPG forum suffered a security breach that exposed personal data belonging to approximately 292 thousand users. The incident occurred due to an exploit in the WoltLab Suite forum software which allowed unauthorized access to the database. The leaked information included usernames and email addresses along with passwords that were cryptographically hashed using a double Bcrypt method. The developers confirmed the breach and advised all forum users to change their credentials immediately to mitigate the risk of account takeovers.
