AlexHost

In May 2022 the hosting provider AlexHost experienced a data exposure due to a configuration error during an email marketing campaign. The company accidentally included all customer recipients in the visible CC field of a mass email instead of using BCC. This technical oversight allowed every recipient to view the contact details of other customers. The incident resulted in the exposure of personal identity information for approximately 1500 clients. While the core servers remained secure this privacy breach provided a list of valid targets for potential phishing attacks against the hosting service users.
