In September 2022 the AmericanBeauty club website which specializes in the sale of American cosmetics suffered a security breach. An unauthorized party managed to gain access to the database resulting in the exposure of approximately 13 thousand user records. The compromised data includes personal information such as full names and phone numbers along with email addresses. Furthermore the leak contains sensitive authentication data in the form of MD5 hashes with salt. This type of incident often occurs due to vulnerabilities in the web application or insufficient database security measures allowing attackers to extract customer details.
