In July 2021 the Spanish Android application marketplace AndroidLista suffered a significant data breach affecting millions of users. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive database records due to unauthorized access. The leaked information included internal user identifiers along with personal details and security credentials. Although many users utilized Single Sign-On systems rather than traditional passwords those who did set manual credentials had their passwords exposed as SHA-1 hashes. The breach highlights vulnerabilities in legacy hashing algorithms and marketplace security.
