In 2018 the popular anime voice acting and streaming portal Anilibria.tv suffered a significant security breach. An unauthorized party managed to compromise the website database resulting in the exposure of user credentials. The leaked data included internal usernames and email addresses along with passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt. Approximately 150000 registered users were affected by this incident which circulated in various underground forums and data sharing platforms shortly after the hack occurred.
