Animal-id

A database belonging to the Russian animal registration system Animal-id was compromised in 2022. The breach exposed personal information of approximately 117 thousand pet owners who registered chipped animals. The data includes full names, contact phone numbers and email addresses. This incident highlights vulnerabilities in specialized national registries and poses risks of targeted phishing or social engineering for pet owners across the country.
