AnimeForum.ru

In December 2017 the Russian community website Animeforum.ru suffered a security incident resulting in the exposure of its user database. The breach involved approximately 132000 accounts. Technical analysis indicates that the leaked data was obtained through unauthorized access to the forum software. The compromised information included sensitive user details such as email addresses and passwords stored as MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. Additionally administrative data like IP addresses and site activity logs were part of the exposed dataset.
