Animoto

In July 2018 the online video creation service Animoto suffered a major data breach when an unauthorized party gained access to a database containing user information. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 22 million records. The compromised data included email addresses, full names, dates of birth, geographic locations, and salted SHA256 password hashes. Animoto identified the breach and subsequently notified affected users while implementing security measures to protect its infrastructure from future attacks.
