Apolyton

In May 2020 the Apolyton Civilization Site gaming community experienced a significant data breach affecting its forum users. The incident involved the exposure of sensitive database records from the vBulletin based forum. The breach resulted in the unauthorized access and subsequent distribution of user credentials including email addresses and usernames. Passwords were also compromised though they were stored as salted hashes using vBulletin and Bcrypt MD5 algorithms. This leak highlights the ongoing risks associated with legacy forum software and the targeting of niche gaming communities by malicious actors.
