In August 2018 the Brazilian cryptocurrency investment platform Atlas Quantum suffered a significant data breach. The incident led to the exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 261000 customers. The leaked data included full names email addresses and phone numbers. Additionally the database contained account balances at the time of the breach. The company confirmed the security incident through its social media channels stating that while personal data was accessed the funds themselves remained safe under their protection. This event highlighted vulnerabilities in emerging digital asset management platforms during the crypto boom period.
