AtletasNow

In December 2021 the Brazilian sports platform AtletasNow suffered a significant data breach. The incident involved the exposure of sensitive user information from their database. The leak was attributed to a security vulnerability that allowed unauthorized access to internal systems. The compromised data included personal identification details and contact information of athletes and users. Passwords were found to be stored as MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. A total of 62800 unique user records were affected by this security failure.
