Atmeltomo a Japanese platform dedicated to dating and computer technology discussions suffered a data breach in early 2021. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 1.5 million records from its database. The compromised information included over 580000 unique email addresses and 317000 usernames. Security analysis revealed that passwords were stored using the weak MD5 hashing algorithm making them vulnerable to cracking. Additionally user IP addresses and various profile details were leaked and made available on public forums.
