In December 2017 the Atomcraft Minecraft server experienced a significant data breach when its database was exposed online. The incident resulted in the compromise of approximately 415000 records containing sensitive user information. The leaked data included player nicknames email addresses and IP addresses. Furthermore passwords were leaked in MD5 hash format which is considered cryptographically weak and vulnerable to cracking. This breach allowed unauthorized access to user account details and posed a security risk to players of the Russian gaming community.
