About this leak
In August 2017 the online ordering and restaurant management platform Auphan Software experienced a data breach affecting its AuphanOnline service. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive user credentials from a legacy system. The breach included usernames and email addresses along with passwords stored using the weak MD5 hashing algorithm without any salt. This cryptographic weakness made the passwords highly vulnerable to cracking through rainbow tables or brute force attacks. The service has since evolved or been discontinued in its original form but the leaked data remains a risk for those who reused passwords across other platforms.
