In July 2019 a data breach occurred at the Russian automotive service portal AvtoStrast based in Krasnodar. The incident resulted in the exposure of a database containing information on approximately 80 thousand users. The leak originated from the official website and included personal identification details along with security credentials. Technical analysis indicates that user passwords were stored in the form of SHA256 hashes without sufficient protection against decryption. This breach exposed customers to potential credential stuffing attacks and unauthorized access to their accounts on the STO platform.
