Badoo

In June 2016 the social dating network Badoo suffered a massive data breach involving over 112 million records. The incident exposed a vast database containing user email addresses, names, dates of birth, and passwords. The passwords were stored using the MD5 hashing algorithm which is considered cryptographically weak and easily crackable. This breach was part of a series of large scale attacks against social platforms during that period where data was subsequently traded on darknet forums.
