In November 2019 the Iranian music community platform known as BehForum suffered a significant security breach. An unauthorized party managed to compromise the forum database resulting in the public exposure of sensitive user information. The incident affected approximately 260000 registered members. The leaked data includes internal forum posts along with user account identifiers such as nicknames and email addresses. Most critically the leak contains IP addresses used by members and account passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt. This breach poses a risk of credential stuffing attacks and privacy concerns for the affected Iranian user base who utilized the platform for music discussions.
