Benchmark

In November 2019 the Serbian technology news website Benchmark suffered a significant data breach affecting its community forum. The incident resulted in the exposure of personal data belonging to approximately 93 thousand users. The security compromise was attributed to the use of an outdated version of the vBulletin forum software which contained known vulnerabilities. Exposed data included user IP addresses email addresses usernames and passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt. This breach highlights the critical risks associated with running legacy forum software without timely security patches.
