BestHack

In December 2016 the Russian hacking forum known as BestHack experienced a significant data breach. The incident led to the exposure of sensitive user credentials for approximately 70000 registered members. The compromised database contained detailed user records including unique usernames and email addresses. Most critically the breach included passwords stored as vBulletin hashes which are susceptible to cracking. This leak occurred during a period of increased targeting of underground forums by rival groups or security researchers aiming to de-anonymize participants in the hacking community.
