Bhinneka

In early 2020 the Indonesian e-commerce platform Bhinneka suffered a significant data breach when a hacking group known as ShinyHunters gained unauthorized access to its customer database. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 1.2 million user records which were subsequently put up for sale on dark web marketplaces. The compromised information originated from an older database backup and included sensitive personal details and security credentials. Investigations suggested the breach was part of a larger campaign targeting multiple online retailers globally to extract and monetize user data.
