On February 5 2024 a significant data breach affecting the Russian online store BioFam was reported. The leaked database includes information on approximately 46000 registered users and over 121000 order records. The compromise involved sensitive personal details and order history. Security researchers noted that the breach exposed user credentials including passwords stored as MD5 or BCRYPT hashes which are vulnerable to cracking. The incident appears to be a result of unauthorized access to the stores back-end database systems as the data was subsequently published on various dark web forums and data leak platforms.
