BitRewards

In April 2020 the e-commerce and loyalty platform BitRewards suffered a significant security breach. An unauthorized party managed to access the user database impacting approximately 420000 customers. The compromised information included highly sensitive data such as email addresses and passwords stored as Bcrypt hashes which provides some level of protection but remains a risk. The incident highlighted vulnerabilities in the platforms data storage and security protocols leading to potential unauthorized access to user accounts.
