In June 2020 the Uzbek coupon and discount platform Bizzon suffered a data breach that exposed the personal information of approximately 8000 users. The incident involved the unauthorized access and publication of a database containing sensitive user credentials and demographic details. The leaked data included email addresses, phone numbers, and names. Furthermore, the breach exposed user passwords stored as MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. Gender information was also included in the dataset. This leak posed a significant risk to the privacy of individuals using the service in Tashkent and other regions of Uzbekistan.
