BleachAnime

In January 2015 the anime enthusiast forum known as BleachAnime suffered a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of its user database. The incident led to the compromise of approximately 145000 accounts. The leaked information included registered usernames and email addresses along with passwords stored as salted MD5 hashes. This type of hashing is considered weak and susceptible to cracking via brute force or rainbow table attacks. The forum has since ceased operations but the leaked credentials remain a risk for users who reuse passwords across multiple platforms.
