In May 2022 a data breach involving the Russian clothing reseller BNS-club.ru was discovered. The incident resulted in the exposure of a database containing information for approximately 67000 registered users. The leaked data includes personal identifiers such as full names and contact details alongside security credentials. Technical analysis revealed that passwords were stored as SHA512CRYPT hashes which allows for potential offline cracking attempts by malicious actors. The breach appears to be a direct compromise of the web platform customer database.
