In January 2023 the American bodybuilding and nutrition forum BodyWeb suffered a data security incident resulting in the exposure of its user database. The breach affected approximately 90000 members and included sensitive information such as usernames email addresses and hashed passwords. Additionally technical and personal details like IP addresses birth dates and profile statistics were compromised during this event. The data was subsequently shared on various underground forums which posed a significant risk for credential stuffing and phishing attacks against the fitness community.
