BorkLand a popular Minecraft gaming server suffered a data breach in 2019 exposing the personal information of its community members. The incident resulted in the unauthorized disclosure of a database containing roughly 85000 unique records. The leaked data points included player nicknames used within the game environment along with hashed or plain text passwords and the IP addresses used by players to connect to the server. Such breaches in the gaming community often occur due to vulnerabilities in server plugins or outdated database management systems allowing attackers to export user tables.
