In November 2014 the Bot of Legends forum dedicated to League of Legends scripting tools suffered a significant data breach. The incident involved the unauthorized access to the IP.Board forum database exposing sensitive information of approximately 238 thousand registered users. The compromised data included member usernames email addresses and IP addresses. Security analysis revealed that user passwords were stored as MD5 hashes with salt which are considered weak by modern security standards and susceptible to cracking attempts.
