In late 2022 the notorious darknet community known as BreachForums suffered a significant security incident. A database containing sensitive information of approximately 212 thousand registered members was exposed. This breach included critical user details such as unique usernames, email addresses, dates of birth, and cryptographic hashes of user passwords. The incident was particularly notable as it targeted a platform primarily used by cybercriminals to trade stolen data, highlighting that even illicit marketplaces are vulnerable to internal or external exploitations.
