About this leak
In November 2021 the cryptocurrency exchange platform BTC-Alpha suffered a significant data breach following a cyber attack. An unauthorized party managed to gain access to the service infrastructure and subsequently leaked user information on various hacking forums. The compromised data set included approximately 362000 unique records. The exposure involved sensitive technical and personal identifiers including email addresses and IP addresses as well as usernames. Additionally user passwords were leaked in the form of PBKDF2 hashes which while hashed pose a risk if weak passwords were used by the customers.
