In late April 2022, the Russian cultural portal Bulgar-portal.ru suffered a significant data breach. An unauthorized party gained access to the backend database, resulting in the exposure of approximately 31,000 user records. The compromised data included personal identifiers such as full names, user nicknames, and contact details. Additionally, the leak contained sensitive security credentials including MD5 hashed passwords, which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking.
