CallOfGods 2017

The Call of Gods online gaming community suffered a significant data breach in early 2017. An unauthorized party managed to compromise the user database resulting in the exposure of over 640000 registered accounts. The compromised data included sensitive information such as unique player nicknames, email addresses used for account registration, and IP addresses of the users. Furthermore, login credentials were leaked in the form of MD5 salted hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking attempts. The incident primarily affected players of the browser based strategy RPG.
