CellulariShop

In February 2023 the database of the Italian online electronics retailer CellulariShop was compromised and leaked online. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive customer information including personal identification details and account credentials. The breach affected approximately 110000 users. Technical analysis indicates that the leaked passwords were stored using the weak MD5 hashing algorithm making them highly vulnerable to cracking. The leak appeared on various underground forums and data sharing platforms providing a risk of unauthorized access to user accounts.
