CityBee a prominent car sharing service operating in Lithuania experienced a significant data breach in February 2021. The incident involved the unauthorized exposure of a backup database containing sensitive information of approximately 110000 registered customers. The leaked data included full names personal identification numbers email addresses and hashed passwords. Investigations revealed that the data was likely accessed due to an incorrectly secured cloud storage bucket. While driver license numbers were included in the leak the company confirmed that payment card information was not stored in the compromised database and remained safe.
