CityMobil drivers

In late 2022 the Russian taxi service CityMobil suffered a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of driver and customer data. The incident involved the unauthorized access to sensitive information including a database of 3.9 million customer records and approximately 83 thousand driver records. The breach was particularly severe because it included not only contact details but also private documents such as passport photos and vehicle registration certificates stored on the company servers. The data was leaked by a threat actor who claimed to have gained access through internal systems. This incident highlighted major vulnerabilities in the digital infrastructure of one of the largest transportation services in the region.
