Clash of Kings

The official forum for the popular mobile strategy game Clash of Kings was compromised in July 2016. Attackers exploited a known vulnerability in the vBulletin forum software to gain unauthorized access to the underlying database. The breach resulted in the exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 1.6 million users. Exposed data included usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, and salted MD5 password hashes. Despite the encryption, MD5 is considered weak and susceptible to cracking. The incident highlighted significant security risks for the gaming community and the dangers of running outdated forum software.
