In November 2019 the CleverMarkets trading discussion forum experienced a significant data breach. The incident involved an unauthorized access to the database which led to the exposure of sensitive user information. The hack affected approximately 20 thousand registered accounts. Leaked data included personal identifiers and security credentials. Specifically the breach contained email addresses and usernames along with passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt. Additionally the technical logs containing IP addresses of the forum members were compromised during this security failure.
