About this leak
In March 2016 the Commission on Elections in the Philippines suffered a massive data breach after its website was defaced by hackers linked to Anonymous Philippines. A separate group called LulzSec Pilipinas later published the entire database online. The incident exposed the personal information of approximately 55 million registered voters including sensitive biometric data and passport numbers. This event is considered one of the largest government agency data breaches in history due to the scale and sensitivity of the compromised voter records.
