ConceptArt.org an online community and resource hub for digital artists and designers suffered a significant data breach in August 2015. The incident involved the unauthorized access and subsequent publication of a database containing information for nearly half a million members. The compromise allowed attackers to extract sensitive user credentials including usernames and passwords stored as salted MD5 hashes. This security failure exposed the community to credential stuffing attacks and other forms of identity theft.
