About this leak

In February 2021 the recipe management website CopyMeThat suffered a data breach that exposed the personal information of approximately 607 thousand users. The incident resulted in the compromise of sensitive account details including names and email addresses. Security analysis revealed that user passwords were also part of the leak though they were stored as PBKDF2 hashes. The breach allowed unauthorized access to user profiles and potentially enabled credential stuffing attacks against individuals using identical passwords across multiple platforms.
